"AS long as he denies his own agency, real change in unlikely because his attention will be directed toward changing his environment rather than himself"

Deisy is a Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #6763) and she received her M.A. in Counseling from Chapman University. Deisy has worked in community mental health where she provided counseling for persons experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and substance use issues. She worked
as an advocate for undocumented survivors of intimate partner
violence and human trafficking. Deisy pursued counseling due to her own experience growing up without equitable access to mental health services. As an immigrant, Deisy struggled to obtain the services she needed, so she sought to obtain her masters so she can provide these much needed services to her community and beyond. Deisy currently works under the supervision of Dr. Ari Shahabaldiny.
“I believe everyone I work with already has the tools to heal and improve their lives. It's my job, as a client-centered therapist, to help you discover your own strengths so you can live the life you want. Think of me as your tour guide. Together we can explore different areas of your life and different ways of addressing what you’re feeling and thinking, but you’re the one who will decide what journey to take. After all, no one knows you better than you know yourself. As a therapist, I understand that connecting with someone new can feel daunting (and maybe even anxiety producing!), so it’s important for me to provide an environment where you feel safe, heard, and respected. Together, we can work to get you where you want to be. So let’s get you started to reach your destination.”
