Sara Asadifar
(She/her/hers)
Sara is a trilingual (Farsi and Spanish) Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #116459) who received her B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton and M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Sara is currently pursuing AASECT Sex Therapy certification and working towards completing her certification in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. Sara has experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and in group therapy settings. She has primarily worked on clinical issues such as domestic violence, trauma, sexual matters, family conflict, identity conflict and more. With a sex-positive and non-judgmental approach, Sara utilizes different modalities to aid clients in developing insight into how their inner child, cultural expectations, and trauma may be showing up in the therapy room. Sara works under the supervision of Dr. Ari Shahabaldiny.
“I may shed a tear and laugh with my clients, I am just as human as they are. I believe that with this equality and my ability to normalize the discomfort of becoming vulnerable, my clients are able to feel trust and warmth in the environment called ‘your safe space.’ When in this safe space, you are capable of genuine self-reflection and defining values behind past actions, all processes that encourage taking responsibility and thus moving to a place of empowerment. Once empowered, I have seen clients give themselves permission to want better but more importantly, feel they deserve it. As a natural cheerleader, I encourage you to give yourself the chance to look at yourself differently in the mirror, and as a natural observer, I will also look to you to choose how you would like to change.”
