(She/her/hers)
Olivia is a registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #137774) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC #13342) who received her B.A. in Psychology from San Francisco State University and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Olivia works with couples, families, individuals, adolescents, and children. She has experience working with a variety of issues, including but not limited to anxiety and depression, self-esteem, trauma, shame, neurodiversity, sex and intimacy, and relationship conflicts. Through providing counseling through the Irvine Unified School District and working in a residential treatment center, Olivia has gained extensive experience working with diverse issues and has helped clients process early childhood experiences, family systems, and attachment injuries while challenging negative core beliefs that are no longer useful. She operates from a trauma-informed lens and is trained in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. Olivia works under the supervision of Dr. Ari Shahabaldiny.
“Your thoughts and feelings are valid, but they do not define you! We are often our biggest critics, which can unfairly create roadblocks in our journey. I am passionate about helping clients harness their potential so they can live a fulfilling life. Approaching situations with curiosity, compassion, humility, and empathy, I work to create a safe and non judgmental environment for clients to process deep emotions and complex experiences. I integrate attachment-based therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other favored modalities that emphasize autonomy, empowerment, mindfulness, ridding unhelpful thought patterns, and healing from underlying wounds. I strongly believe that clients are the experts of their own lives, and I will act as a helpful passenger as you navigate life through the driver’s seat.”
